American Idol 11 (2012) Finale Philip Phillips Performance of “Home”

Philip’s winner’s single is an original called “Home.”

This song ended up getting the only standing ovation from the judges and was the last song of the night. During the season, most of the standing O’s were for Joshua. Jessica and Philip also got some. Timing wise, this looks real good for Philip.

Philip Phillips has made the American Idol 11 finale. As with the Top 3 Week, he will be singing three songs for the finals. This first song is the winner’s single, which is like a coronation song. It is not yet clear whether Philip and Jessica Sanchez will sing the same winner’s single or two different songs.

Heading into the finale, Philip is the favorite if we are going by betting odds and also the favorite if we look at the type of person who generally wins American Idol. However, Jessica has a lot of diva votes and will have a huge edge in overseas votes, something which is not supposed to happen but clearly is. A lot of people also like power singers, and she definitely has that over Philip. Fans who love singer/songwriter types will favor Phillips.

      “Home” is an original song. I did not say Philip wrote the song. It is an original because it has been performed but not officially recorded on an album or released as a single.

      Even the link you gave says it is an original song.
