The following ABC News legal video deals with the practice of skate-bombing, which refers to riding skateboards at high rates of speed down steep hills, being pulled by a vehicle on a board, and similar reckless acts. The video was uploaded to the ABC website on August 8, 2012.
The Los Angeles, California city council decided to impose a fine for those caught skate-bombing. This fine can be up to $250. And the police officer imposing the fine has the discretion to confiscate the skateboard in addition to giving the reckless skateboarder a ticket.
City councilman Joe Buscaino spearheaded the new ordinance. He said two kids in L.A. have been killed due to reckless skateboarding.
