The following ABC News crime video is about a bomb threat called in to the Carmike Theaters. This is a nationwide chain of movie theaters, and the threat was called into headquarters. So all theaters showing “Expendables 2″ were forced to take protective measures. This particular video, which was added to the website on August 18, 2012, features the Newnan, Georgia Carmike theater.
The local Newnan police searched the entire movie theater to make sure there was no active threat. After giving the “all clear,” the Carmike was allowed to carry on with its usual business.
It was not made clear what connection “The Expendables 2″ has to do with the bomb threats. Carmike and the police seem to be kind of tight-lipped about the specifics of this bomb threat.
