The following ABC News legal video is about Hempfest 2012 and an initiative in the state of Washington to make marijuana legal (to some extent). The video was uploaded to the ABC website on August 18, 2012.
Booths and other participants at Hempfest 2012 are all for some form of marijuana legalization. The state of Washington also has I-502, which is an initiative that partially legalizes marijuana.
Interestingly, some groups represented at Hempfest are for I-502, while others are against it. With such a divide, it will hardly be surprising if I-502 fails to pass.
After reading the contents of I-502 on the New Approach Washington website, I am convinced that people who want to legalize marijuana but oppose I-502 are self-defeating and have probably smoked way too much pot for their own good. It is reasonable. You can possess marijuana if you are at least 21, and only farmers and shops with a state license can grow or sell it. How is this different than alcohol? It essentially legalizes marijuana. There is no good reason not to support it IF you believe in the idea of legalizing pot.
