AdSense Integration for WordPress Blogs and Websites
WordPress publishers typically use AdSense to make money on their blog posts and articles. As a general rule, it is pretty easy to get accepted by Google for the AdSense program. However, you should start your website first, set up 10 or 20 articles, set up a Privacy Policy and then apply for AdSense.
Refer to AdSense's Terms of Use to learn more about Privacy Policy requirements. In WordPress, use the "Pages" feature instead of the "Posts" feature to make your Privacy Policy. That way, there will be a link to it on every page of your site. This is important because Google will be able to easily find it when they check out your site for the application process.
Once you are accepted, you can either choose the hard way or the easy way to incorporate AdSense into your blog. The hard way would be to manually go into the various PHP codes and add your AdSense ad codes. This is very complicated and unnecessary.
Instead, you should use a WordPress AdSense plugin. The only real problem with AdSense plugins is that they sometimes stop working with new versions of WordPress. Thus, if you use a plugin to integrate AdSense into WordPress today, you may have to change to a different plugin when you update WordPress to a different version. Nonetheless, this is the easy way to incorporate AdSense into WordPress.
WordPress has a plugin directory. If you go to that directory and run a search for AdSense, you will see a bunch of plugins. Each one will have a stats page, ratings, screenshots, etc. Rather than recommend particular plugins, I will let you do your own research. But once you decide on a plugin, then download it per the instructions to install it on your blog.
These plugins usually have a simple control panel. You enter your AdSense ad code into the block, choose where to deploy your ads, etc. Things can get complicated with some of these programs, but they are generally simple to use. Just remember to limit your ads to 3 per page to stay within AdSense rules.
Once you have installed a plugin and used the control panel of that plugin to incorporate your ads into your blog, the program automatically serves the ads on every Web page of your blog website. This is the beauty of WordPress. It makes it easy to set up things one time only and then forget it and let the system do the work after that.
So that's it. Choose and install a WordPress AdSense plugin, install it, use the included control panel to program your ads and then you are done. Your ads will show up automatically on each new page of your WordPress blog.
If you have not set up your own blog yet, we recommend HostGator as a Web host for your domain. You can get the Hatchling Plan (the cheapest one) if you are only setting up one website. It has a one-click installation process for WordPress. You can be up and running with your own WordPress blog and posting your own articles for traffic from the search engines. Just apply to join AdSense after you have written about 10 or 20 articles and posted a Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer: Of course, this means we have a material connection to HostGator. We are affiliates and get paid a commission for referring other website owners. We have no problems telling you this because we do, in fact, use their services for this very website.
